Uni Air

One of the regional airlines of Taiwan, the airline is domestic and a regional subsidiary of EVA Air. Till 1996, the company was known as Makung Airline, but then EVA Air took the company and it changed its name to UNI air. In recent years the airline has also started serving international destinations. EVA Air officially announced that for the convenience of its passengers it merged itself with UNI Air.

Founded in the year 1998, the airline is serving several destinations since then. It is into the industry operating for the last 21 years. It has two major hubs and headquarters are situated in Taipei. The airline owns a fleet of 15 aircraft and serves almost 27 destinations. The airline was merged with Great China Airlines and Taiwan Airways and the result of which was the formation of Uni Air. It has the largest market share in the domestic Taiwan market in recent years and has also started international services in recent years. Making airlines used to operate a fleet BAe 146 series and all these aircraft were sold after the formation of Uni Air. Its fleet consists of one Airbus and 14 ATR aircraft. In 2007, permission to fly to Japan was also received by the airline.

Uni Air baggage allowance

The maximum limit is set by the airline for carrying luggage while travelling. Free baggage is allowed up to a certain limit and extra charges are to be paid beyond. In domestic flights, the guests can carry checked baggage of 10 kgs and not more than that. In international flights, checked baggage should be of 30 kgs for economy passengers and 40 kgs for passengers travelling business class.

Food and beverages are offered to all international guests. Domestic flights have snacks options for the ones that take more than 90 mins to reach their destinations. Drinks are served to the passengers on all flights. Passengers in international flights get served hot meals along with desserts. Alcoholic drinks are charged separately. Special meals are also available but the passenger needs to make a pre-booking in order to avail this service.

Two class services are operated in Uni Air flights divided into Business and Economy

-       Business Class - The passengers have access to Eva Air's evergreen lounges. They also have extra facilities available upon request. Legroom space is more than usual.

-       Economy Class - Spacious, comfortable seats with good services available. Meals can be ordered from the menu available depending on the travel time. The fare charged is also less than business-class.
