Sun Country Flight Cancellation for Medical Emergency

If you or a family member or travelling companion falls ill or becomes physically incapacitated, preventing you from travelling or continuing your trip, Sun Country offers flexibility. Your ticket's validity can be extended up to 30 days beyond the original limit.

For your flight cancellation due to a medical emergency to be considered by the airline, you must submit documents on official hospital letterhead. These documents must be signed and typed by a doctor, providing a diagnosis and including the doctor's name and signature. Please note that prescriptions are not accepted as valid documentation.

To cancel your flight due to a medical emergency:

• Contact Sun Country Airlines as soon as possible to inform them of the situation.
• Provide documentation of the medical emergency, such as a doctor's note or hospital discharge papers.
• Sun Country Airlines will work with you to process the cancellation and provide any applicable refunds or credits based on the circumstances.

Sun Country Cancellation Fee

The cancellation fee imposed by Sun Country Airlines depends on the timing of your cancellation:

No cancellation fee will be applied if:

You cancel your ticket at least 60 days before departure.

You cancel your ticket within 24 hours of booking, and your flight departs at least 7 days (168 hours) after the booking date.

Cancellation fees:

If you cancel your ticket 14 – 59 days before departure: USD 39 per segment.

If you cancel your ticket 0 – 13 days before departure: USD 79 per segment.

Sun Country 24-Hour Cancellation Policy

If you book your ticket at least 7 days (178 hours) before the scheduled departure, you have the option to cancel your flight or itinerary within 24 hours of booking. During this 24-hour window, regardless of the type of ticket you hold, you will receive a full refund upon cancellation.
