On 5^th February, 2008 Somon air airline first commenced and had since launched an air operation in order to break the monopoly enjoyed by state owned flag carrier. The primary focus of this airline is serve passengers and transport passengers to their required destination within Eastern Europe.

During 2009, Somon air comes into an agreement with international Transport Association billing and settlement plan which is abbreviated as IATA’s. And on April 2013, it made an agreement with Multilateral Interline Traffic Agreement.
