Taman Nasional Bali Barat is a perfect gem placed on the northwestern edge of the island. Campuhan Ridge Walk

Seemingly the most Instagrammable trail in Ubud, Campuhan Ridge Walk is a pure treatise for the eyes and the soul. The early morning sunrise and the walk during sunsets, facing sacred-river gorges and tropical woods are truly magical. Don’t miss taking a few clicks in the golden hours amidst the beauty around.

Lake Tamblingan Trek

Danau Tamblingan is one of the three volcanic lakes located on a plain in the North of Bali. Located one and a half-hour drive from Ubud, it’s an excellent one/two-day getaway and a great escape from the hot weather. Explore the untouched rainforest homing exotic birds and large ficus trees on a dreamy trek into the woods. There is a Bali Jungle Trekking info counter that can be found on the road overlooking the lake from where you can find guides and hike on with an expert.

Mount Batur Hike

This popular volcanic peak of Bali is located north of Ubud. Starting from Ubud, this trek is another Unesco World Heritage Site on the island and one of the best places to experience the sunrise from above the clouds. While booking your Bali tour package, don’t forget to add this spectacular experience.

Botanical Gardens

Just an hour’s drive from Ubud, the Botanical Gardens are a fantastic natural wonder. Far away from the busy touristy paths, here you can relish being in the arms of nature. Large ficus trees, naughty monkeys, bamboo groves and unique flowers, come here for a peaceful walk and you will be refreshed like never before.

Ubud Rice Terraces Walk

The popular Unesco World Heritage Site, these Tegalalang rice paddies are simply fascinating and deserve a visit on your trip to Bali. Though they are one of the chief tourist attractions of Bali, an early morning walk before the crowds is an experience in itself. Choose your own trails or go in with your guide, the entrance fee is just IDR10.

Mount Catur

Towering up the Lake Beratan, Bali’s second-biggest lake, Mount Catur is Bali’s fourth-highest volcanic peaks standing at a height of 2,096 meters. The hike to the top begins from Gua Jepang caves (created by WWII hostages) takes approximately three hours while the trail is quite easy to follow. It’s an excellent alternative to the crowded Mount Batur trek. Warning: Avoid the journey during the rainy period (October to March) as leeches can be a problem.

Sambangan trek – Secret Garden

Sambangan is a cover in Nort Bali, popularly known as the secret garden since it’s far away from the tourist ways. The trek begins at the Sambangan Secret Waterfall. On the path, you’ll have the opportunity to appreciate the dreamy waterfalls, coffee estates, rice fields and all the beauty that Balinese nature can treat you with.

Mount Agung Hike

With a height of 3,031 meters, Mount Agung is the highest peak on the Island of Gods and worshipped as the most divine entity. But the view from the top can make you feel on top of the world, overlooking the entire Bali, the neighbouring islands and the encompassing oceans.

Candidasa – Lempuyang Temple

If you want to explore the secret spots of Bali, head to the eastern shore where you can pitch in your camping tents on cliffs and hilly regions offering a great selection of walks and hikes. The Lempuyang Temple is one of those marvellous structures, but not an easy hike. On the way, you may find locals carrying large offerings to the temple during their worship and the whole scene around is definitely worth the fatigue.
