Firearms
|
Carriage of firearms and ammunition is carried out according to the requirements of the International Air Transport Association /IATA/.
It is not confirmed on codeshare flights of Bulgaria air.
Carriage of firearms and ammunition other than sport weapons and ammunition is prohibited.
In some cases, carriage of firearms and ammunition for hunting and sporting purposes may be permitted. The passenger should contact Bulgaria Air and provide information on the type of weapon, its serial number, and the ammunition, which will be entered into the reservation system. All firearms and ammunition will be accepted only as baggage and must be transported in the luggage compartment of the airplane and under no circumstances in the passenger cabin. They must be suitably packed separately and the weight of the ammunition should not exceed 5 kg.
The passenger should have all documents required by law and regulations applicable to carriage for the particular state.
Bulgaria Air reserves the right to deny carriage of firearms and ammunition.

Conditions of carriage of live animals in the aircraft hold /AVIH/
- The transport container must be large enough for the animal to stand in its natural position, to turn around and to lie down;
- The transport container must be designed to be leakproof, e.g. lined with absorbent material such as blankets;

Products of animal origin

The import of products of animal origin to the European Union is subject to strict procedures for veterinary and sanitation control. Due to the risk of introducing diseases to the European Union via products of animal origin containing pathogens and causing infectious diseases in animals, the import to the European Union of meat, meat products, milk, and dairy products for personal consumption is prohibited.
Exceptions are allowed for the following categories of products:
- Powdered infant milk, infant food and special foods required for medical reasons, under the conditions that these products are packaged patented brand products, they do not require refrigeration before opening, and that the packaging is unbroken.
- Meat and meat products and milk and dairy products for personal consumption from the Faroe Islands, Greenland, Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Switzerland, in so far as their total weight is less than 5 kg.
- Meat and meat products and milk and dairy products for personal consumption from Andorra, Norway, and San Marino.
Other quantities of meat and meat products and milk and dairy products may be imported by passengers to the Community only if they:
