• The airline informed you about the flight cancellation between 7 and 13 days before the flight's departure and gave the option of putting you onto a different flight through which the departure of your flight will be no more than 2 hours before the original flight's departure and reaching your flight less than 4 hours after the scheduled time of the original flight's arrival.  
• The airline informed you about the flight cancellation less than seven days before the flight's departure. It was offered the option of getting onto a different flight onto which the departure of your flight will be no more than 1 hour before the original flight's departure and reach your flight less than 2 hours after the scheduled time of the original flight's arrival.

• The airline can reduce the compensation amount by 50% if the airline provides the passenger with a different flight. In case of a distance of 1500 km or less, the delay in the arrival time of the flight is less than 2 hours, or in case of a distance of 1500 km within the EU or distance of all flights between 1500 km and 3500 km, the delay in the arrival time of the flight is 4 hours for all other flights.

Here is a detailed explanation of cases in which, the airline won’t provide you with any compensation:

• If the delay in your flight was less than 3 hours.
• If the airline informed you of the cancellation more than 14 days before your departure date.
• The airline can show if it took all the necessary caution, and still, the airline couldn't avoid the delay or cancellation of the flight.

Collecting your compensation is pretty easy, you can do it by going to the airline's official website and filling few columns. Here is the detailed method through which you can collect your cancelation compensation:

• Go to the airline's official website.
• Go to the help option and click on Delay, Cancellation, and Refund.
• Click on the compensation and then on the subsection “Visit our Expenses and Compensation page”.
• Go to the “How to Claim Compensation option” and click on it.
• Click on “Claim Compensation for British Airways Flight”.
• Answer the questions one by one( it will take about 10-15 minutes).
• Submit the form.
